|
The Rectangle Bag
Friday, April 16
This all day workshop features
my new technique for handbag
construction that eliminates
patterns, templates, y- seams
and difficult construction
methods.
We will make two handbags
during the workshop. The first
will be a simple handbag that
will teach you the techniques.
It will go together so quickly
you won't believe it.
Once you've got the basics
down, we will move on to
project design. You will
design your own handbag:
size, shape, closures,
embellishments, pockets,
handles and all of details are
up to you. I will coach you
through the design process
and you'll finish the second
bag before the end of the day!
The Rectangle Bag doesn't
have to be a rectangle!
The name refers to the
pieces used to make the
handbag.
We'll start with a
simple bag to
learn the
techniques
Lots of fun
design details!
Scrap Basket Rugs
Saturday, April 17
This half day class a chance
to spread your wings and try
something completely different!
We'll start by making a
wooden loom for your rug.
The wooden pieces are all
pre-cut and pre-drilled, so all
you'll need is a hammer and a
phillips head screw driver. The
loom goes together quickly
and easily and you don't need
any woodworking skills.
Once the looms are together,
we'll warp them using a strong
cotton string. Your quilting
scraps are where the magic
begins! This completely no
sew project uses techniques
your grandmother probably
used to braid the scraps onto
the cotton strings.
The end result is a washable
throw rug that you'll be proud
to use anywhere in your
house!
EZ Quilted Wallet
Friday, April 16
Use a heavy interfacing like
Timtex or Peltex for a base
and you can make wallets of
any size....a great addition to a
Rectangle Bag!
